How It Works

The device is hidden within your asset, in a position known only to you (and our accredited fitter, if you use him). In its default operating mode the device reports its position to the 24/7 Sure-Track monitoring service on a regular basis.

From time to time you’ll want a more intense level of monitoring, for example when the asset is going to be left unattended over a long period of time. In that situation you contact the Sure-Track monitoring service to activate the motion detection function on the device. Now, if your asset is moved or stolen the device sets off an alarm at Sure-Track.

From this point the location of the device is actively monitored and our team of finders is alerted. Once the monitoring service staff have triangulated the GPRS/GSM signals to get a rough location, a finder, usually with a Military or Police background, is dispatched to the area where they then activate the RF function on the device which gives them a very accurate location.

Once the finder has located the asset he liaises with the police, directs them to the location and then contacts you to arrange collection or recovery.

Once you have bought the device activation happens automatically when you sign up for the annual monitoring service. We’ll do the rest; we’ll even tell you when the battery is about to run out (after about 3 years)
